As treatment providers, we often know what we are looking for even if we can't articulate it.  Because we do the work of healing, at times we are laid with the burden of being misunderstood by others around us. There can be assumptions that because we are treatment providers, we should have the answers to our problems, making us bear the weight of being the holders of our own pain. We also can fall for the trap of expecting to be our own therapists. This thinking can leave us further isolated in our traumas when we rely on those closest to us for support and we expect to know the answers for ourselves.
